My work with Young People

As a parent or carer, it’s not always easy to know how best to support a young person who is struggling. Whether they’re dealing with anxiety, low mood, social pressures, school stress, ADHD, or emotional overwhelm, it can be hard to watch them face challenges and not know how to help.

That’s where counselling can make a real difference.

I offer a safe, supportive space for young people to explore what’s going on in their lives — somewhere they can talk openly, without judgment, and begin to make sense of their thoughts and feelings. My approach is calm, down-to-earth, and tailored to each individual, helping them feel seen, heard, and supported in a way that works for them.

I offer a free initial chat which includes both you and your child. This gives us a chance to meet, talk through what’s been going on, and decide together whether counselling feels like the right next step. It’s important that everyone feels comfortable before moving forward.

If your child chooses to begin sessions, they will be offered the same confidentiality that any client is entitled to. This means that what they share with me stays private — unless there is a risk of harm to themselves or others. This privacy is an important part of building trust, helping them feel safe enough to be honest and open.

That said, I understand how important it is for parents to feel informed and reassured. While I won’t share specific details of our sessions, I will always keep communication open.

I have experience working with young people with ADHD, and I understand how complex and frustrating life can sometimes feel — for them and for you. My work includes helping them find ways to manage big emotions, improve focus and self-esteem, and feel more in control of their own story.

If you're looking for a compassionate, professional space where your child can feel genuinely supported, I'm here to help. Please get in touch to book your free initial chat.

Dear young person,

Life can feel really overwhelming sometimes — especially when you’re trying to juggle school, friendships, family stuff, social media, and all the thoughts and feelings that come with growing up. If you're feeling anxious, low, stressed, angry, or just a bit lost, you're not alone — and you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

I work with young people just like you, offering a space where you can talk about whatever’s on your mind, without fear of being judged or “talked down to.” Whether it’s pressure from school, friendship problems, family issues, or big emotions that feel hard to control, counselling can help you understand what you’re feeling, why you might be feeling it, and how to cope in ways that really work for you.

I also have experience working with young people who have ADHD — and I understand that the world can feel like it's moving too fast (or too slow), and that focus, frustration, or fitting in can be daily struggles. Together, we can explore tools and strategies that make life feel more manageable, and help you feel more confident in being yourself.

Starting counselling might feel scary — and that’s completely okay. But reaching out is a brave first step, and I’m here to walk alongside you, at your pace.
